NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

To be held at CASA ITALIA COMMUNITY CENTRE

26 Gray Street, NEW FARM , 4005 - Queensland

On Monday the 6th of May 2019, 1.00pm

ALL MEMBERS ARE WELCOME and highly encouraged to attend. 

N.B. Please note that our Patrons Comm Carmelo Caruso and Cav Ralph De Pasquale are being informed and invited as a matter of course. They are very cordially invited and welcome to participate if they can make it.

The meeting will extend from 1.00 pm to 3.00pm.

Light refreshments will be made available.

THE PURPPOSE OF THE MEETING is: 

-  to discuss and to REDEFINE THE PROGRESS OF THE ORGANISATION; and,

-  Should a Motion for the DISSOLUTION OF THE ORGANISATION be formulated and put to the Meeting (as has been recently foreshadowed),

·      To accept/reject and or discuss the Motion, and if the dissolution is  approved by the meeting;

·      to give appropriate consideration to the best process and related implications, including

         1. the timing thereof and

      2. Consider the best options towards the disposal in due course of any remaining                   surplus funds or assets following the discharge of any organisational debt and liabilities.

Questa nomina intende esprimere la grandissima stima, l’affetto ed il rispetto che portano a Rosalia tutti i membri del Coro per il contributo particolare da lei intrapreso nei riguardi del Coro, al di la' degli indelebili legami creatisi nella condivisa dimensione comunitaria. 

L'impegno di Rosalia nell'offrire la sue perizia musicale, tempo, e competenze artistiche ed organizzative manifesta una grande generosità d'animo a beneficio intero della Corale ed a godimento della comunità.

Cari amici..... dal Coro Verdi...un gran benvenuto a tutti. Dear friends.... the Verdi Choir welcomes you all.
Apologies from Brian and Val Cleary, Mary Davidson, Mario Reginato, and Cesare Crispigni.
Patricia, our Pianist, is due to join us with some delay. 
Welcome to this lunch, which we see as an occasion to greet you and thank you all, without exception, for your friendly support over the years.
And now....I have great pleasure in sharing with you all what follows: It is on behalf of our Musical Director, Rosalia Miglioli, Vice-President of the Dante Alighieri Society that I am WELCOMING us all, Choir Members and distinguished guests to this joyous event.
What you need to know is that , since accepting her role as Musical Director, Rosalia has adamantly ensured that her service to the Choir be free of charge, and that her virtual honoraria be used by the Choir towards funding other purposes, such as, for example, our luncheon get- together TODAY. This is extraordinarily kind and altruistic. 

WE ARE ALL ROSALÍA'S GUESTS TODAY

Please join me in expressing our thanks.
The Choir has long decided to grant Rosalia Life Membership to the Giuseppe Verdi Chorale Society.
Maurizio, Rosalia's husband, also deserves our gratitude. He contributes with his good voice and much kindness.
I could of course not go further without naming Patricia Brown for her own helping the choir with versatile music and situations but also, notably, for accepting for her role a nominal financial compensation, well below market value. Thanks go to Peter Davidson also for his entire commitment to assist as required
in conducting the Choir in a variety of circumstances, without ever expecting any benefit other than our thanks and appreciation!
Our Patrons and their gentle spouses.....a great joy to have you here today! You gratify us with your presence and assistance and support time and again over the years.
And to Mrs Maria Castellano (first Patron Dr Francesco Castellano's widow) and her daughter Teresa and son in law Mr John Des Marchelliers. Your sustained and friendly support is always greatly appreciated.
It is with great pleasure that I also acknowledge the invaluable support given by all the singers past and present, at all times, in many ways. With the advancing years, this, for many, has come to represent quite a demanding contribution, at times a challenge but always a valuable sacrifice. 

The Choir praises and thanks you all from the very depth of its collective heart that is from all the Members, those present, and also those who have departed.
We shall of course create other occasions this year to sing for you, to keep you posted and to enjoy your company. (VOX POPULI)
